We Invest in Our Animals…

On average, it would cost you $200-$300 to provide the level of investment we put into each adoptable animal.  Every animal adopted from us has been spayed or neutered, permanently identified with a microchip, fully vaccinated and treated for fleas.

You can also call us at 352-793-9117 or email adoptme@hsspca.org to find out more about our adoptable pets and to set up an appointment to meet them at our campus in Lake Panasoffkee, FL.
*Please note, you must have an appointment to visit our pets at our campus in Lake Panasoffkee. An application is not required to set up an appointment, but it will expedite the process!*
If you’re looking for a cat or kitten, you can also visit Petsense (1088 Canal Street, Sumter Landing, The Villages) or PetSmart on CR466 in The Villages, where we showcase some of our cats!
3. What to bring with you to your appointment:
– Driver’s license (or State of FL ID card)
– Vet records for current pets and any pets you’ve owned in the last 3 years. We require that all pets in your home are spayed/neutered and up to date on their Rabies vaccines, so bringing this info along with expedite the application process! Otherwise, we will need to contact your vet ourselves, which can sometimes take a few days.
– If you’re renting, please bring a letter from your landlord stating that you are allowed to have a cat or dog in the household! If you’re not able to obtain a letter, please notify your landlord that we will be contacting them to confirm that pets are allowed. If we are not able to confirm this on the day of your appointment, the adoption may be delayed.
– If you have a dog at home and are adopting another, we require that they meet each other on our campus prior to completing the adoption! This does not have to occur on the same day that you come to meet your potential companion, but it must happen before they are sent home with you. Please ask your Adoption Counselor for more information.

Return Policy

We do our very best to place only healthy sound animals for adoption. Animals that have come in from the streets and with unknown backgrounds can become ill as their immune system is not 100%. Please remember most puppies/kittens need to be observed for any sign of loss of appetite, loose or discoloring in stool or any change in behavior.

If your new pet becomes ill, you have the option of returning the pet to us or having the pet treated at your expense by your veterinarian.

If you choose to return the pet, you must return the animal to YOUR Humane Society SPCA.

A refund will be given no later than the 7th day of the final adoption, however, no refund will be granted after the 7th day. If you return a pet for any reason  you will be required to sign all necessary release forms relinquishing all rights of the pet back to YOUR Humane Society SPCA.

Any animal ever adopted will always be accepted back no questions asked.
